As classrooms officially turn the page to National Reading Month, Concept Schools is primed to make March a month to remember with its “Reading is a Ticket to Adventure” event. Students K-5 are encouraged to explore the limitless bounds of literature over the next few weeks and have a chance to win cash prizes.
Here’s a breakdown of how it is going to work:
-Students will be provided a bingo card
-Every time a student finishes a reading activity, they will mark it on their bingo card
-When the student completes a row (across, down or diagonally), they will have “bingo”
-BONUS: Students who complete the entire bingo card will have their names entered into a raffle for a chance to win an e-gift card from Scholastic
-Upon getting “bingo,” the student will create a poster “advertising” their favorite book and turn it into their teacher by March 22
-Each teacher will pick one poster from their classroom to be submitted to Concept Schools
-Prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place within the Concept School Network will be awarded and announced in April
There are a few other parameters students must follow in order to be eligible to receive a prize.
-An adult must sign the student’s bingo card upon its completion
-Each poster must include the student’s name, school name, teacher name, and grade level
-Each poster must contain original artwork and be done by the student
National Reading Month gives students an opportunity to get lost in the adventure of a good book. For more information, reach out to your student’s teacher.
